I have decided to go back to school to get my teaching certificate. All of the classes will be online except the student teaching for 12 weeks. I currently hold an English Literature degree but would like to be able to teach if the need should arise. Plus substitute teaching pays $100 a day here in the area. In order to be accepted to a teaching certificate program, post bacherlor's, I needed to take the PRAXIS I exam. Of the three testing sections I have passed the first two and am waiting on the written results. The test took me three and a half hours. So stressful considereing Maggie's emergency dental visit (more on that later). Onto Issy . . .
Jon and I started noticing in late August that some of Isaiah's quirks were getting worse and decided to take him to the pediatrician where we were referred to a psychologist. He then placed Isaiah in testing to determine what issues Issy was struggling with. Preliminarily we were looking at Aspergers syndrome and Obsessive Compulisve Disorder. After his last testing session, it was determined that he is borderline Asperger Syndrome and ADHD. Isaiah's mind can not shut off. He constantly is living some wild story in his mind mostly involving transformers. He often visits them at their houses and they often sit with us at dinner until I explain the transformers need to be in the garage during dinner. He does not deal well with new situations and hates to leave the house. As soon as we go anywhere he wants to go home. These are just some of his issues we deal with everyday. We now are waiting on the occupational, physical and speech therapy evaluations and a neurologist appointment. Simply put, one day at a time.

Catching Up
We have been quite busy lately with wrapping up Halloween, a visit from Jon's family, testing (me and Issy), accidents and working out. First, I will start with Halloween. We had a great time dressing up as the Wizard of Oz. Not really authentic, but we loved it. We went to October fun night, Preschool Octoberfest, Trunk or Treat, Providence Place trick or treat and door to door with my sister and her family. I swore I would never go door to door but with the time change we were desperate to keep Maggie up and moving until 9pm. The kids had a blast with their cousins and it was fun to hang out with my sister.

Halloween Dinner and October Fun Night
This year we had our annual Halloween Dinner on the same night as the High School's October Fun Night. I scaled down my menu from what I wanted due to the craziness of this past week. Maybe I will do my this year plan, next year. The menu was much the same as last year. Spooky joes, seasoned fries (orange seasoning), carrots, spooky eyeball beans, ghoulish punch and cupcakes. We had fun. The kids loved the eyeballs in the drink. Unfortunately the irises went towards the bottom of the cup. Then the kids got dressed up and headed to the school for trick or treating. We had a fun night.

Pumpkin Decorating
We had our Pumpkin FHE this past week. Sarah and DJ came over to help since Jon was away. We used push decorations since I didn't want to carve by myself. The kids absolutely loved it. The kids then helped me make Halloween cookies. Which was super easy courtesy of Pillsbury pre-made cookies. The kids each took twelve and put them on their own sheets. It was great.

Maggie Turns 2
Our Mags turned two! Even though I fully believe I have been experiencing the terrible twos for some time now, she is officially two. We had a tinkerbell themed family party. She is so sassy and obstinate just like the little fairy I thought it fit. I decorated her cake with Tink and some of her gifts were fairy themed.

Issy Bug

Our little bug had his first dentist appointment last week. He did great and was so excited. This is slightly uncharacteristic of him due to his fear of so many things. We were thrilled and he loved all his prizes.
